HPMF CheerleadingCheer Director: Christie Smith (973)903-1669 cheermom@ptd.net HPMF cheerleading has 2 divisions: Football Cheer & Competition Cheer Cheerleading is a team sport and commitment is an important key! Whether cheering for Football Cheer, or Competition Cheerleading attendance at practice(even summer), events, competitions, games, etc is mandatory. We expect that each child who signs up makes cheerleading a priority from cheer camp thru the end of the season. Being a member of the HPMF cheerleading program has many rewards and is a valuable experience that your child will remember for a lifetime. Additionally, your child will give pride and spirit to our program, and community through her participation. Positive parent support is just as important in the success of your child’s experience in the program. Football cheerleaders are placed according to the grade they will be
in September of that year. Competition Cheerleaders must tryout for a spot on a comp team. Please see the competition cheer section for more information. Football Cheer Registration:There are three registration dates in May. Information goes home with the school or can be found on the website. Registration is $85 for football cheerleading plus the cost of team gear(see below), and each family must sell 10 raffle tickets.Camp:All girls must have a note from their doctor stating they are in good health to participate in cheerleading. No one will be allowed to participate without this.Attendance at camp is Mandatory. Football cheer camp is usually the last week of July(M-F) at High Point High School. Camp is run by the HP high school varsity cheerleaders. At camp they will be taught the basics of cheerleading (jumps, stunting safety, arm drills etc.) and their half-time routine. All girls must come to camp in red bottoms and black tops. They attend camp according to the level they are on. Flag & Pony 5:00-6:30pm Super, Pee-Wee & Midget 7-8:30pm Practices:Practices will begin in August, immediately following camp. The
first three weeks of August cheer practices are held at Woodbourne park,
in Wantage. Once the fair is cleaned up we move to the fairgrounds
for practices. Uniforms:Uniform hand outs are held prior to pictures & pep rally. They are held at the Richards building at the fairgrounds. Each uniform is labeled and tracked. There is a $50 uniform deposit which we hold until the uniform is returned in the same condition. Your check will be returned to you at uniform returns in November. If we do not get the uniform back or it is damaged the check will be cashed. If the uniform is not returned or HPMF can not cash the check that child will not be able to attend the banquet and/ or receive their award.
