Football Information

Overview

High Point Midget Football (HPMF) offers flag and tackle football for the residents of Sussex, Wantage, Lafayette, Branchville and Montague for all youth levels starting at Kindergarden all the way up to 8th grade. HPMF competes within the North Jersey Youth Football League (NJYFL) which offers the below levels of play:

Flag Football

  • Grades K through 2nd

Tackle Football

  • Rumble - Grades K through 2nd
  • Pony - Grades 3rd & 4th
  • Super - Grades 5th & 6th (see note below)
  • PeeWee - Grade 7th
  • Midget - Grade 8th 

Note: The NJYFL is considering individual 5th grade and 6th grade teams instead of a combined 5th and 6th grade team. The league will not know if they are capable of doing this until all registrations from participating towns are complete.

High Point Midget Football now offers both flag and tackle football levels. Practices start August 1st with the first game being the first weekend after Labor Day. Practices for flag are typically 2  days a week while practices for tackle are typically 2, 3 or 4 days a week depending on the level. Games are played on Saturday's, flag typically in the early afternoon while tackle is played in the late afternoon or evening and on Sunday's in the afternoon.

High Point Midget Football's program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game with emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship and having fun. When joining High Point Midget Football league, you'll find our organization to be a great place to learn new skills and meet new friends.

High Point Midget Football provides the necessary equipment players need to safely participate. Additionally, all volunteer coaches are carefully screen by HPMF before being approved to take the field with the players.
